Join M.Rose Sweetnam for some time in the gardens! Participants will use community gardens as inspiration for understanding and participating in mutual aid and food justice efforts. Expect to get hands in dirt at a learning garden site around town — dress accordingly! Students can expect individual reflection, group conversation, learning about local efforts, and plenty of time with our hands in the dirt.
This is a 1.5 hour, mixed ages workshop for youth as young as ten years and adults of all ages! Space is limited, so be sure to enroll each participant individually to ensure that there is space. (Guardians who intend to stick around should also enroll.) Participants should arrive with the understanding that this is an intergenerational workshop centering gentle instruction for all ages.
This is an IN-PERSON, OUTDOOR workshop; will be held near one of our learning garden sites downtown or on the near east side. Exact location and remaining logistics will be emailed to participants prior to the start of class. Please arrive wearing masks. This workshop may be rescheduled due to inclement weather or any changing public health guidelines.
