Everyone has a story to tell. A well-crafted story isn't just for telling a story on a stage, it can liven up a presentation, tell the story behind the data, or simply help you regale your friends. In my interactive storytelling workshops, I help participants craft their stories until they feel confident and excited to share them with others. Class participants will learn how to find, shape and present stories. You can bring an existing story to shape or find a new story from your life. We will discuss the five main elements to a story and how to discover them. By learning dynamic storytelling elements, you will gain the tools to pull short stories out of everyday life. Participants will learn how to turn an anecdote of something that happened to you into a story that illuminates a central truth about your life. This will be an interactive workshop with a mixture of mini lecture, 1:1 dialogue, small group work and presentations. How this will work over Zoom: -Week 1: Interactive class (full class meets together over zoom) -Week 2: Interactive class (full class meets together over zoom and part of the time is spent in small groups using the breakout feature) -Week 3: Intensive workshop on your story (the class meets in groups of 3 over Zoom) -Week 4 Full class meets over Zoom to hear story presentation Instructor: Jen Rubin
