Summer 2021 Youth + Mixed Ages Programs
(in-person and online options!)
These programs are designed to cultivate connection, artistic agency, and arts skills through live outdoor and online gatherings with a social justice focus.
STRUCTURE: A variety of class structures are being offered this summer, from in-person, outdoor events to online classes. Some classes run once a week all summer while many are pop-up events happening just once. Take note of the age restrictions on classes. Note that most programs run on Mondays, Wednesdays, or Fridays. Most in-person, outdoor classes are limited to ten participants, so be sure to sign up as soon as you know you'd like to attend. Please do not hold a spot unless you know you'll be able to join us. Thanks!
LOCATIONS: A few classes are running entirely online and are listed as such. Many of the outdoor, in-person program locations are to be announced — we want to send participants to the learning gardens sites with the most activity, and that depends on how the growing season goes! Unless otherwise stated, please expect to receive an email with location details before the workshop date.
FEES: These seasonal programs are available at a sliding scale. Free enrollment options are possible thanks to funding support from Dane Arts, Madison Arts Commission, Wisconsin Arts Board, individual donors, and contributions from families with means. We rely on your contributions to build gigs for teaching artists! For free enrollment in Indigenous Arts programs (available to Native students) or scholarship information for other programs, contact [email protected].
HEALTH AND SAFETY: Please arrive to in-person workshops wearing a mask and/or face shield and exercise distancing whenever possible. Classes may be rescheduled for inclement weather or changing public health conditions. Whenever possible, please wear weather-appropriate clothing to in-person workshops.
